He md/1 Vevie (surname unknown), c1891 in TX. Issue: Roy (1893-1981), Ora (1896-c1938), Hartie (1900-?), Isaac Cecil (1903-1983), Alvie (1906-1985) and Iva May COLLINGS (1909-1910). LEMEUEL MCCOY BURRUS(BURRIS) and his wife, LENA DUNIGAN BURRIS came by covered wagon in 1906 to Texola, Beckham Co., OK. Lemuel contracted the measles from his three little daughters and died. I am trying to locate an index to the Texola Cemetery to determine where he was buried.

GRAVES, James C. (1890"s) Texola, Beckham County OK
I really don't have anything to add at he moment, but am trying to research the names of my grandparents and ggrandparents, they lived in Beckham County Oklahoma in the late 1890's and early 1900's. They were James C.Graves and Rebecca E. Travelstead Graves. They are buried in the Texola Cemetery. If any one has any information on them, I'd be most appreciative.

PRYOR, Philip J. (1936) Beckham Co., OK
Philip J. "P. J." PRYOR and his second wife, Nancy Catherine "Kitty" (THORNE) CHANNELL PRYOR, brought their family to Carter, OK. Kitty died in 1926 and was buried at Poarch Cemetery which lies between Carter and Retrop. P. J. died in 1936 in Elk City and was buried at Poarch Cemetery. Only Kitty's grave has a granite stone marker. Neither one have a gravemarker with inscriptions.
The child of P. J. Pryor by his first wife, Elizabeth Ann EASTEP (who died in east TX), who came to OK was John Henry PRYOR, my grandfather. He married Rosa Mattie SMITH 1907 in Cordell, Washita Co., OK. They eventually moved east to Marshall Co., OK. Rosa's parents were Frank M. and Mary Jane (FLIPPIN) SMITH.
P. J. and Kitty PRYOR's surviving children who lived in Beckham Co. area were: Jerome Kirby (later moved to TX), Clarence McGary (went back to TX), Ira Minerva COOPER ADAMS and James Jesse. Kitty's children by her first marriage to George William CHANNELL were: Mildred Asaline, John William, George Thomas and Samuel Rufus. The Channell children also came to Beckham Co.
P. J. had a brother, John Buchanon "Buck" PRYOR, who also brought his family to Beckham Co., probably at the same time with P. J. Buck died 1914 and his wife, Emma Jane TERRY, died in 1920. Both are buried at Ural Cemetery, south of Elk City. Their children were: John Montgomery, Thomas Jefferson "Cooney," Mary Jane GRAY, Lillie Mae RICHARDSON and Henry Clay.
P. J. and Buck were the sons of Lemuel and Elizabeth (HARDEGREE) PRYOR. The HARDGREE relatives also came to Beckham Co. and surrounding counties. I would love to hear from any descendants of the above persons and the Hardegrees...and to exchange information.

PAIN, P. D. (1919) Beckham County, OK
PAIN, P. D. (May be Payne, and first name believed to be Phillip but not positive.) Married Addie Georgia WILLIS about 1909. On 28 Nov 1919 he was sentenced to 3 years in prison for Assault and Battery. Spent some of the time at Granite and remainder at McAlister. His prisoner number at Granite was 2424 and at McAlister it was Mc-10677. He was paroled in September 1921. I seek information about his family members and what happened to him after prison. Believe he was a painter and also know he sold sewing machines sometimes.

MURPHY, William Alexander (1903) Sayre, Beckham County, OK
Seeking information on William Alexander Murphy, b 16 June 1865 in MS, married Sarah Ellen WRIGHT in Sharp Co., AR. Sarah had two brothers, Jim and Charlie, who came with her by wagon train to the Sayre area between 1889 and 1903. W.A. Murphy was reportedly the first treasurer of Beckham Co. Children: Virgie Etter, Beaulah Vista, Elmer Alexander, Myrtle Florence, Dora Minerva, William Melville (father of Lomax), Claude, Clyde, Roy, Ray, Bessie Anna and John Homer. Myrtle married William Alexander TAYLOR born 1 Oct 1891 in Delhi, OK. William Alexander Taylor's parents were William Lewis Taylor and Addie May KAHLER. Myrtle Florence Murphy Taylor's daughter, Dorothy Imogene married David Stimson DAUGHERTY (my parents). David's mother, Ola Lee STIMSON was born 30 August 1893 in Granite, OK and married Delford David Daugherty. Ola's parents were I.M. Stimson and Cora Alexander. I'm looking for any info regarding these people or their possible descendants.

LAWRENCE, John and Della (0000) Sayre, Beckham County, OK
I am searching for any information about my ggrandparents John and Della D. LAWRENCE. Della's maiden name was SLATON and she was often called Dolly. John, Della, and their children came to Indian Territory from NC sometime after 1884. It is rumored they might have had up to 12 or 13 children. I believe my grandfather was one of their younger children. His name was Benjamin F. LAWRENCE. His WWI draft registration lists his next of kin as Della D. LAWRENCE living in Vancouver, BC. I am looking for the first name and burial place of my great-grandfather. He is listed on the 1910 federal census for the Sayre in Beckham County. His son (my grandfather Pink) and my grandmother are also listed. Only Pink and Lilly are listed in the 1920 federal census this time in Caddo County in the North Lathrum township. Pink and Lilly were married in Roger Mills county in 1907 (I have the marriage certificate). My great grandfather was 69 years old in 1910. My great grandmother Elizabeth was listed as being 60. My grandmothers maiden name was MADDOUX. Pink and Lilly were married by reverend J.C. WHITE pastor of the Missionary Baptist Church from Lone Oak. They were married at the home of Mrs. MADDOUX with witnesses Lonny MADDOUX and Frank NEIGHBORS on June 9, 1907. Any information regarding by great grandparents resting places will be greatly appreciated. Any information about the MADDOUX family will also be appreciated.

On the 1910 Oklahoma index there is a Robert H. SMITH, white 53, b. SC. with wife Anna SMITH, white 40,b. Texas, Daughter Willie SMITH 14, b. Texas, daughter Gracie SMITH, 12, b. Texas, son James SMITH, 9, b. Texas, & son Walter SMITH, 2, b. Oklahoma. Also on this index in Bryan, County Oklahoma is a Robert H. SMITH (my ancestor) 40, white, b. Alabama. Julia A. SMITH, 30, b. KY, son George R. SMITH 16, b. Texas, daughter Mary SMITH, 14, b. Texas, daughter Hattie 12, b. Texas, & daughter Maggie SMITH, 6, b. Oklahoma. My ancestor W.R. SMITH's obit. Denison Herald, March 7, 1928 says that he W.R. SMITH not Robert H. was b. in Texas Jan. 3, 1928. That he was a native of Texas and had lived in the Denison Texas area most of his life. He was a mechanic. Survivors were, son George R. where abouts unknown, daughters Mrs. Mattie PINSON, Quannah, Texas, Mrs. S. CLARK, Elk City, Okla., Mrs. Hattie WEGER, Colbert, Okla. and a step mother at Allen. Julia A. WHITLEY SMITH according to her death certificate,she died in Sayer, Beckham Co. OK. May 4. 1945,& is buried in Sayer-Doxie cem. She was b. in KY & so were her parents. The informant on the death certificate was Mrs. Mary SMITH. Is it possible that on the 1910 index Robert H. was 30 yrs. instead of 40, and the Robert H. in Beckham Co. is his father. That would make him b. in 1880 and Julia A. b. 1880, so the Robert H. 53 in Beckham Co. would have been abt. 23 when he was born. Anna is 13 years younger than the Robert H. in Beckham Co. in 1910. If this is true then the Robert H. in Bryan Co. OK. has a son 2 yrs. older than his oldest step sister Willie SMITH. I have searched and searched for information to put this family together. If there is anyone out there that has this same family please let me know. George R. SMITH d. in a VA. hospital in OK. City, but was missing for alot of years. He was supposed to have married and had a daughter, we don't know who they were. He just up and left one day. The following is a list of persons names and possoble ages. Looking for descendants of Jonathan Alexander Scott HISE, born 1852 in Maryville, Blount, TN, and his wife, Martha Frances "Fannie" HENRY, born 1858 in Decaturville, Decatur, TN. They married in Lamar County, TX, in 1877. Their children were: Felix, Albert, Luther, George, Eula, Ella, and Julia. Seeking relatives of William Washington McDONALD born 1867 in MS. Married to Mattie PHILLIPS in 1892 in MS. They lived in TX from 1892 to 1902. Moved to Sayre in 1902 with three children, Clarence, Annette & Abney. William was a doctor in Sayre from 1902 until 1916 when he died from glandular fever. His father, Matthew G. McDONALD, was still alive in 1916 and mentioned in his obit. William's widow & children subsequently moved back to MS. Would like to know if Matthew or any other McDONALDs were living in the Sayre area. Would like contact with any McDONALD, PHILLIPS, RAINER relatives.

My grandmother was Edna Frances SNOW. She was hired to teach Spanish at Delhi High School in 1926-1927-1928. She was reportedly also the High School Principal. She met and fell in love with my grandfather Louis Leroy GILLILAND while he was a student at Delhi High School. I would like to locate anyone who might have Delhi yearbooks, school annuals, etc. Any information that might document Edna as a teacher and Louis as a student. Thank you.

Seeking information on Etta (NICHOLS) DAVIS. According to the obituary of her sister Adeline Perniecy (NICHOLS) LEE, Etta (NICHOLS) DAVIS, was in Erick Oklahoma, in 1931. Etta was born about 1866 probably in Lamar County, AL, and was married to Tom DAVIS, presumably also in Erick in 1931. Have information on parents and brothers and sisters of Etta (NICHOLS) DAVIS.
