Mrs. Almira Ramser:

Apache (Special) - - Services for Mrs. Almira Gilbreath Ramser, 77, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Cache Creek Mission. She died about 8 p.m. Monday at her farm home west of Apache, where she had lived for the past 50 years. Rev. Jerry Hayenga, pastor of the Cache Creek Mission, will officiate at the services, assisted by Rev. Charles Warner, pastor of the First Methodist church. Burial will be in the Cache Creek cemetery, west of Apache, under the direction of the Crews Funeral Home. Mrs. Ramser was born March 26, 1887, at Idanna, Kan. After her graduation from Kansas State College, Mahattan, in 1908, she taught school one year in Charleston, S.C. She came to Apache in September 1909, and taught at Cache Creek Mission, southwest of Apache. She married John Gilbreath at Olathe, Kan., Oct. 21, 1914. They farmed west of Apache until he died in 1927. She married B.C. Ramser on June 7, 1942. He died in 1959. Mrs. Ramser was a member of the Apache Study club, and also belonged to the Boone Home Demonstration club, and the Tarry Awhile club. Survivors include two sons, Walter Gilbreath and Wylie Gilbreath, both of Apache; a daughter, Miss Margaret Gilbreath, Oklahoma City, and five grandchildren.

This is meant to be my official Will. Walter to be Administrator without Bond. If not Walter - Wylie Administrator without Bond. If not Wylie - Margaret Administrator without Bond. If none of these, someone the court appoints without Bond. Margaret gets one half (1/2) of everything I one; which means the money Walter owes me on the farm. The other half divided equally between Walter (and or his heirs). A car and any cattle can be divided as those in authority think best. My personal effects can be divided as those in authority think best. The royalty I own on Walter's home place reverts to the owner of said land at time of my decease. At time of my decease $100 (one hundred dollars) be set aside for upkeep of the cemetery lot of the Gilbreath lot and Ramser lot. If this $100 is not sufficient, the administrator make reasonable appropriations. In event of Margaret's decease without heirs, my property divided equally between Walter & Wylie (and or) their heirs.

May 7, 2002: Response from the State of Texas Health Department found no death certificate. Registration of birth and death records began in 1903 but was not made mandatory until 1921. Many counties didn't adhere to the law until the 1930's or 1940's. A record of Henry's death may be in the county courthouse, Centerville, Leon Co., TX.

Later, I have determined he died in Freestone County. Spoke with Margaret Gilbreath-Kline on Jan. 22, 2003 and she said I may want to check Centerville, Leon Co., TX.

Springbreak 2004: Stopped in Centerville and checked courthouse records, nothing found.
