Mike Woods
abt. 1917-18
From submitter: Jerry
Woods:
The photo above is of my grandfather, Mike Woods, taken about 1917-18.
It is a WWI draft registration photo. At
the time he and family were living in
Cyril, OK.
Mike was born Sept. 4th 1881 in Rolla,
Missouri.
The photo below is my dad
Michael J. Woods, he is in the navy
uniform,
and my uncle Virgil H. Woods in
the marine uniform.
The hoto was taken during WWII, while
the two were on leave,
on Guam Island in the South Pacific.
Their finding one another
was only by accident as neither knew
where the other was at the time of their
shore leave.
Both were born in Caddo
County, OK around Cement or Cyril.
Dad was
born in 1921, uncle Virgil in 1911.
