The New Hope community was located
east of Lake Lawtonka. New Hope was one of three schools
in district # 126.
New Hope was the farthest west, with Franklin in the middle
and Hess was the eastern school.
On June 12, 1902, the first school meeting was held at
home of W. WEBER. It was closed about 1942, becoming part of
the Elgin School district.
