ASHLEY FREEMAN

POSTER

Late in the evening of December 29, 1999, or early in the morning of December 30, 1999, a crime occurred in Craig County, Oklahoma. Danny Freeman, and his wife Kathy (Tracy) Freeman were shot to death in their rural home, northwest of Welch, probably before midnight, on the 29th. It is surmised that the Freeman*s daughter, and only surviving child, Ashley Renae Freeman and her best friend, Lauria Jaylene Bible were kidnapped after the shootings, and taken from the area. Later in the morning, the perpetrator(s) or their accomplices returned and set the Freeman's mobile home afire.

Due to the fire, and several lapses in the investigation process, much of the evidence at the crime scene was either destroyed or tampered with. By the time the OSBI and FBI came to the scene, they had little to work with. At any rate, the girls had seemingly disappeared without a trace, with no money, and no identification on them.

Lauria's seventeenth birthday came and went on April 18, 2000. It was acknowledged by family and friends, with released balloons, remembrances, and prayers; Both for answers and for the girl's well being. The girls are considered "Endangered Missing". Call 1-800-843-5678 (1-800-THE-LOST) with any information.

Ashley was born 12-29-1983. She disappeared the night of her sixteenth birthday. She has blue eyes. She had light brown hair, weighed 145 pounds, was 5 feet 7 inches tall, and had a small scar on her forehead. Lauria is the daughter of Jay and Lorene Bible. She was born 04-18-1983. She has hazel eyes. On the night of her disappearance, she had brown hair, weighed 130 pounds, was 5 feet 5 inches tall, and had a mole under her nose. Note: Hair color, etc. of both girls may have been changed.

One year later, as this article is going to press, there are no solid leads in the whereabouts of Ashley and Lauria. The surrounding communities have rallied around the grieving families, seeking answers. The reward fund currently stands at $50,000.00.
