Orvin "O.W." Conner, who had a
barber shop at 719 W. Illinois for many years, is pictured in 1966,
cutting Dewey Bartlett’s hair. There was a
governor’s race that year and Bartlett was a candidate. Incidentally,
Bartlett is pictured reading the Vinita Daily Journal. Bartlett
served as governor from 1967-71 and was the second Republican Governor,
following Henry Bellmon. Within the autograph, Bartlett wrote: Thanks
for the good haircut and conversation!
