Vinita—Funeral for Mrs. Laura Ellen Crockett, 68, a
long-time Vinita resident who died Monday in a local
hospital after a seven year illness will be Wednesday at 2
p.m. in Burkhalter funeral chapel.
Mrs. Crockett was born March 15, 1885, in Richhill, Mo. She
moved to Vinita several years ago. Mrs. Crockett was a
member of the First Christian church.
Survivors include her husband, J.I. Crockett; three sons,
Tommie Crockett, Vinita; and Kenneth and Elizia Crockett,
both of Tulsa; two daughters, Mrs. C.C. Hawkins, route 3
Vinita; and Mrs. J.R. “Dick” Bright, Claremore; four
brothers, Frank Stevens, Dawson, Mo.; John Stevens, Oregon;
Jake Stevens, Marysville, Calif.; and Joe Stevens, Butler,
Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Orval Misner, Walnut, Kan., and Mrs.
Otis Hurt, Butler, Mo.; 20 grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.
