Vinita—Funeral arrangements are pending here for Paul O.
Simms, 57, long-time Vinita attorney, who died Monday at his
home. Luginbuel Brothers funeral home is in charge.
Simms had been in ill health for several years.
He had held county and federal positions during his lifetime
and had practiced law here for 30 years. He served four
years as assistant U.S. district attorney in Tulsa, and
later was county attorney of Craig county for six years. He
was active in Democratic political circles and served as
Craig county central committee chairman.
Simms was born in Monroe county, Mo. He has resided in Craig
county for about 55 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Simms of the home; two
daughters, Mrs. Quentin Poe, Pryor, and Mrs. Loyd Lundy,
Vinita; three sons, James R. Simms, Baltimore, Md., Charles
Simms, U.S. navy, San Diego, Calif., and Thomas F. Simms,
U.S. navy, Moffitt field, San Francisco, Calif.; and one
sister, Mrs. Murray Grubb, Miami.
