Family Wiped Out By Crossing Crash.
VINITA, Oct. 9.—A family of three was dead here Saturday
night after an incoming passenger train hit their auto
inside the city limits.
Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Coats, 27 and 25 years old respectively,
and their 5-year-old daughter, Billie Jean, were the
victims. They lived on a farm 16 miles northwest of here.
The locomotive carried the car 120 feet down the tracks,
demolishing it without dislodging the victims.
The cause of the tragedy had not been determined Saturday
night.
