Word has been received here of the death at midnight
Saturday in Vinita of Charles Goodpaster, 59 years old,
former city councilman there and the father of Herbert
Goodpaster, 337 Southeast Thirty-ninth street, production
superintendent of the Kerlyn Oil Co.
Goodpaster, a deputy United States marshal in the Indian
Territory days, suffered a paralytic stroke several days
ago. He had been active in city and county politics at
Vinita the past several years.
Also surviving are his wife, two sisters, and two other
sons, Crag Goodpaster, former mayor of Vinita, and Francis
Goodpaster, former Craig county representative.
Services have tentatively been set for Monday afternoon in a
Vinita funeral home. Burial also will be at Vinita.
