VINITA, Aug. 2.—A 4-year-old Missouri girl was killed and
six members of her family were injured Saturday when the car
in which they were riding collided with a truck 8 miles east
of Vinita on U.S. highway 69.
The child, Judith Rae Ives, died enroute to a Vinita
hospital.
The family was traveling to Tulsa from their home in
Irondale, Mo., to visit relatives when the car collided with
a truck loaded with cantaloupes.
Ambulance drivers from Vinita said that Carl C. Ives, driver
of the car and the girl’s father, apparently lost control of
his car after striking a pair of bed springs on the highway.
