VINITA, April 3.—Seven Vinita churches, the city library,
Fairview cemetery board and the city park fund were revealed
as recipients of bequests when the will of W.M. Malone,
Vinita business man who died February 21 was set for hearing
in county court here.
Bequests to local groups were in addition to others not made
public, to members of the family and friends.
According to the will of the 81-year-old Vinita pioneer,
$250 was given to the Presbyterian church, of which he was a
member. An additional $250 was given to the welfare fund of
the Presbyterian church.
Malone also left $100 to each of “the five oldest churches
in Vinita that were here when I became a citizen of Vinita.”
They are: First Methodist, First Baptist, Congregational,
First Christian and Holy Ghost Catholic church. Another $100
was bequeathed to the colored Methodist Episcopal church.
Other bequests, each for $250, were allocated as follows:
The city of Vinita park fund; cemetery board of Fairview
cemetery here, and the city library.
