VINITA, Aug. 3.—A young married couple, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph
Hooker, Carthage, Mo., were killed Tuesday when their light
plane crashed at the airport here.
The Oklahoma highway patrolman, Ira Walkup, who
investigated, said the plane was apparently attempting to
land when the crash occurred.
Cause of the crash was unknown.
Mrs. Hooker, 21, was dead when removed from the plane.
Hooker, 23, who was piloting, died about 30 minutes later in
a Vinita hospital.
S.N. Sims, a pilot at the airport at the time, said the
plane circled the port twice, made an apparently normal
approach to the field. The crash occurred after the left
wing hit the ground.
Both occupants were pinned in the craft.
