VINITA, Oct. 12—R.E. Armstrong, rural circulation manager of
the Vinita Daily Journal since _____, died Thursday at his
home here following a long illness.
Armstrong, who had resided in Vinita since 1915, served as
rural circulation manager for the Journal until July 1 of
this year when he resigned because of failing health.
During his residence here, he had been associated in the
insurance, real estate and home appliance businesses.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Veda Armstrong of the home;
a daughter, Mrs. Rhodes Jackson, Vinita; three sons, Guy,
Tyler, Texas; Robert, Oklahoma City, and Julian, Vinita, and
eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Burkhalter
memorial chapel. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.
