Services for Vinita Pioneer Held Sunday
 

VINTIA, Aug. 16.—Services for William M. Simms,79-year-old Spanish-American war veteran, who died here Thursday night, were Sunday afternoon.
    Simms participated in the battle of San Juan where he received a wound which left him crippled.
    He served as probate attorney, assistant county attorney and United States commissioner in Vinita, resigning the latter position a year ago. Born in Illinois, he had lived in Vinita for 54 years.
