Vinita Man, Tulsan Are Traffic Victims
Two Oklahomans were dead and two hospitalized early Sunday
following state traffic accidents.
Mrs. Betty Baker, 34, Tulsa, was killed instantly 12 miles
southwest of Henryetta on US 75 when the car in which she
was a passenger failed to make a curve and plunged from the
road.
George Martin Teenor, 33, Vinita, who also died instantly,
was struck by a Magic Empire express truck at the east edge
of Vinita on US 66.
Man Hit by Truck
The death of the Vinita man came as he attempted to aid two
disabled war veterans. He met the two men, who were
hitchhiking from McCloskey General Hospital in Temple,
Texas, to their homes in Missouri, and offered to drive them
to Miami.
At the edge of Vinita his battery failed and he was
attempting to flag a truck that struck him as he ran across
the highway. Trooper W.J. Smith said Henry A. Beashers, 26,
Tulsa, driver of the truck, swerved in an unsuccessful
attempt to miss Teenor.
The Vinita man’s passengers were John Snow, Neosho, Mo., and
Clifford Buzzals, Goodwin, Mo. Teenor is the son of Charles
W. Teenor, Vinita.
