Bodies of 111 Oklahoma World war II casualties including
eight Oklahoma City youths, killed in the European
theater—among the first to be returned for burial—are
scheduled to arrive Sunday in New York aboard the USAT
Joseph V. Connolly.
All bodies in this shipment are from Henri Chappelle
cemetery at Eupen, Belgium. After arrival at New York,
Oklahoma dead will be sent under military escort to
distribution centers at Fort Worth, Memphis, Kansas City and
Chicago, to be routed to their home towns under honor guard.
