VINITA—Services for George C. Winans, 70, early-day state
resident, will be Monday at 2 p.m. in the Burkhalter funeral
home here with burial in the Vinita cemetery.
Winans died Thursday night in a St. Louis, Mo., hospital
after a major operation.
He was the son of John F. Winans, an 89er who developed
Winans’ addition in Oklahoma City until about four years ago
when he retired and moved to Rogers, Ark.
During World war II he was employed at Tinker field. He was
a veteran of the Spanish-American war and a 32nd degree
Mason.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen, of the home, and a
sister, Mrs. S.A.Z. Howell, 115 NW 17.
