VINITA-Services for Ellis C. Rogers, key employe at the
Eastern State hospital here who was accidentally killed
Sunday, will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Luginbuel
Brothers funeral home chapel.
Burial services will be held Thursday in Pineville, La.
Rogers was cleaning his shotgun outside his apartment on
the hospital grounds when the gun was accidentally
discharged, striking him in the stomach.
Employed at the state institution for 24 years, Rogers
had served as male supervisor for the past 19 years.
He was a member of the Baptist church and Masonic lodge
at Pine Grove, La. He was born Sept. 3, 1895, in
Greensburg, La.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Daisy Rogers of the
home; his mother, Mrs. T.E. Rogers, Pine Grove, La.; and
two sisters, Mrs. Dela Lexox, Pine Grove; and Mrs. Edwin
Womack, Baton Rouge, La.
