VINITA—Services for Walter Carl White, 65-year-old Vinitan
who died Thursday evening following a week’s illness, were
at 2 p.m. Saturday in the First Christian church. Burial was
in Fairview cemetery.
White, a former grocery store owner here, was born Feb. 3,
1888, in McDonald county, Missouri. He came to Vinita in
1937 from Oklahoma City, where he had managed a grocery
store, to operate a grocery in Vinita for several years.
A member of the First Christian church, he had served as
elder since 1932 and in the Vinita church since 1937.
Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth A. White of the
home; one son, Wayne C. White, Tulsa; three sisters, Mrs.
R.S. Taylor, Tulsa; Mrs. Helen Rube, Perry; and Mrs. Lillian
Freshour, Vinita; and one brother, Charles S. White,
Sapulpa.
