VINITA, Nov. 1—Services for James R. Ray, 60, prominent
former Vinitan who died Saturday night in a local hospital
after a short illness, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the
Pilgrim Presbyterian church here. Burial will be in Fairview
cemetery.
Ray, who moved several months ago to his home on Grand Lake,
was a retired rancher and contractor. He was a director of
the First National Bank of Vinita, director of the
Centennial race track in Denver, Colo., a member of the
Masonic lodge, the Scottish Rite at McAlester, the Akdar
Shrine temple in Tulsa, the Vinita American Legion post,
Vinita Rotary club and the Pilgrim Presbyterian church. He
was a veteran of World war I.
Born Feb. 6, 1894, in Harold, Texas, Ray moved with his
parents to Ena, Kan., in 1901. He had resided in Craig
county since 1915.
Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Vivian Ray of the home;
one son, David Ray, Denver, Colo.; one daughter, Mrs. Ted
Montee, Beaver Dam, Ky.
