L.W. Harmon Vinita Rites To Be Friday
 

    VINITA, Dec. 29—Services for Lawrence Weaver Harmon, 72, retired Vinita postal employe who died Monday afternoon in his home here, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Luginbuel Brothers funeral home chapel.
    Harmon had been ill only a short time. Death was attributed to a heart ailment.
    Born March 2, 1882, in Anderson, Mo., Harmon had lived in Vinita since 1906. He was employed at the local postoffice on Oct. 15, 1909, and retired April 1, 1946. He served as assistant postmaster from July, 1919, to August, 1943, and was acting postmaster from August, 1943, to March , 1946, while Postmaster Frank Bailey was in military service.
    He was a member of the Church of God church here, a 32nd degree Mason, and an overseas veteran of World war I.
    Survivors include: his wife, Mabel; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph McKay, Claremore, and Mrs. Orval Buck, Topeka, Kan.; and one sister, Mrs. John Noal, Jasper, Mo.
