Cecil Ray Gambill, 62, advertising salesman and former
Tinker field employe, died Tuesday night from a heart
condition at St. Anthony hospital. He had been in failing
health the past year and was hospitalized two weeks ago.
He was born in Bluejacket and lived in several Oklahoma
cities, including Welch, Tonkawa, Kingfisher, Guthrie and
Big Cabin, before coming to Oklahoma City four years ago. He
made his home at 3900 Mallard drive.
Gambill worked at Tinker field for three years before
entering advertising business. He was a member of the
Methodist church and a Mason.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Helen Gambill, of the home; two
sons, Max Gambill, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Ray Eugene
Gambill, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Querry,
Talco, Kan.; a brother, Troy Gambill, Texon, Texas; three
sisters, Mrs. I.S. Chatterton, Port Lavaca, Texas; Mrs.
Elmer Combs, Duncan, and Mrs. Leonard Strelow, Vinita, and
four grandchildren.
Rites will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Smith & Kernke funeral
home, and committal services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday
in the Big Cabin cemetery.
