VINITA, Nov. 10—L.D. Dalquest, 74-year-old pioneer Vinita
businessman died Early Thursday in a local hospital. Funeral
will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Pilgrim Presbyterian
church.
Dalquest, who had been suffering from a heart ailment for
about three years, entered the hospital Sunday. He had
resided in Vinita since 1906 when he established his
hardware business. He was born in Junction City, Kan.
Active in local civic affairs for nearly a half century, he
was twice elected president of the Vinita chamber of
commerce, and headed the Masonic lodge here in 1919. He was
a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Rose Croix in the
York Rite. He served for several years as chairman of the
Republican party organization in Craig county, and was a
member of the board of elders of the Pilgrim Presbyterian
church.
Survivors include his wife, Della; one son, Taline L,
Vinita; one brother, E.C., Tulsa; and one grandson.
