VINITA—Services for Mrs. Ethel Mae Carroll, 76, longtime
Vinita resident who died Sunday after a long illness, will
be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the First Methodist church. Burial
will be in Fairview cemetery.
Mrs. Carroll was the widow of G.P. Carroll, a pioneer
Vinitan who operated a tailoring, cleaning and pressing firm
here for many years.
Mrs. Carroll, who had continued the operation of the firm
since her husband’s death, took an active part in the
business until only a few weeks ago.
She was born in Baxter Springs, Kan., and had resided here
for 56 years. She was a member of the First Methodist church
and of the Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include: Four daughters, Mrs. Leslie E. Salter,
Flossmoor, Ill.; Mrs. George Cathey, Tulsa; Mrs. Jack
Rorschach of the home, and Mrs. D.E. Martin, route 6, Tulsa;
and two half-sisters, Mrs. Hugh C. Moore, Union Springs,
Ala., and Mrs. Alma Clark, Los Angeles, Calif.; eight
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
