A.L. Mitchell Pioneer, Dies; Rites Pending
 

    VINITA, July 18—Services will be announced by Luginbuel Brothers funeral home here for A.L. Mitchell, 84-year-old pioneer Vinita druggist who died Wednesday in a Nowata hospital. He had been ill three weeks.
    He closed his store here in March, 1954, after 38 years of drug operation in Vinita. He continued to work as a pharmacist for northeastern Oklahoma firms before illness caused his complete retirement.
    Mitchell came to Vinita in 1909, and worked in a department store until 1916 when he purchased an interest in a drug store. In 1932, he bought his partner’s interest.
    Mitchell, who attended the Kansas City, Mo. Pharmacy college became a registered pharmacist in Oklahoma in 1920. He was born in a log cabin in County, Texas, and was a member of the First Methodist church here.
    Survivors include one son, Conrad W., Nowata; one daughter, Mrs. Vera Starwalt, Pawhuska; and four grandchildren.
