STATE TRAFFIC DEATHS
A 50-year-old Vinita man was killed in a truck-train
collision Sunday and two other persons died of injuries
received in previous traffic accidents:
The dead:
ROBERT M. PRICE, 50, of Vinita.
Price was killed Sunday when a pickup truck driven by
Shirley Lloyd Pope, 41, of Vinita, collided with a Missouri
Kansas & Texas freight train at a county road crossing one
mile south of that city.
The train carried the pickup truck a distance down the right
of way. Price was pronounced dead after being taken to a
Vinita hospital. Pope suffered several broken ribs and
internal injuries.
