WELCN, Jan. 18—Requiem mass for Nicholas Rohmiller, 80,
long-time resident of this community who died Wednesday in
an Oswego, Kan., hospital after a long illness, will be at 9
a.m. Saturday in St. Anne’s Catholic church here. Burial
will be in the Chetopa, Kan. cemetery.
Rohmiller, a retired farmer, was born in Germany and came to
the U.S. when a young boy. He and his family settled in
Iowa. He moved to Welch in 1911 and had resided in this
community until December, 1956, when he and his wife moved
to Chetopa.
Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Martha Rohmiller of the
home; three daughters, Mrs. Anna Shield, Hammond, Ind.; Mrs.
Ester Lester, Santa Ana, Calif.; Mrs. Evelyn Parks, Chetopa;
seven sons, Frank, Walnut, Kan.; Harold and Henry, both of
Chetopa; Clarence, Welch, Nickie, Miami; Andy and John, both
of Vinita; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
