What's left of the Western Hotel Submitted by: Darrel Trissell
W.H. Trott built the Western Hotel in 1894 at the corner of Scraper & Illinois (across street from Carter's Grocery) and it reigned as the finest lodging in town until the Cobb set up at Vann & Illinois. In 1911 it was The Palace, by 1915, The Vinita, and then The Crowder. Hotels typically occupied the 2nd and 3rd floors. This building might be the oldest commercial structure still standing in Vinita.
