1917 Ripley Hotel was torn down prior to 1917, as L. S.
Leachman and Wilton Witt built a new building on the site, Sapulpa
Motors. That building still stands and is now [2002] occupied by
Williams Sewing Center and Furniture.
According to the Sapulpa Historical Society Historian,
the hotel was first called the Owen Hotel, then the Gladstone Hotel and
then Ripley. The first marriage in Sapulpa took place in the Ripley
Hotel.
The Ripley Hotel was located on North Main and Hobson
Streets across the street from the Virden
Hotel.
Anyone have a photo of the hotel they would like to donate?
