Funeral services for Leola Claudine Acree, 79, of Sapulpa, were held at 10:30 am Friday, at the First Presbyterian Church, with Dr. John Nelson officiating.
Burial was in Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Sapulpa. Mrs.
Acree was born February 8, 1922, to Gertrude and Ben GARVIN. She attended school at Central, Connors State College and Northeastern State University. She was a retired teacher, a member of the Women's Auxiliary since 1956, a member of the Retired Teacher's organization and of the Cherokee Nation and also was a member and volunteer for the First Presbyterian Church in Sapulpa and a volunteer for
the hospital, Retired Senior Volunteer Program and the Salvation Army.
Mrs. Acree married Raymond E. Acree on December 26, 1942, in Charleston, Mo.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Wiley HUNT; two grandchildren, Jay and Lindsay HUNT; two sisters, Bernice MYERS and Mandnelle KIRK; and two brothers, Herbert and Don GARVIN. She was preceded in death by one son, Michael ACREE.
Pallbearers were Kennon Garvin, Gerald Kirk, Jay Hunt, Steven Garvin, Frank Gierhart and Jim Cundiff.
