Dan Anderson, 84, Depew, died Sunday, Oct 21, 2001. 

Services are scheduled for 2 pm Thursday at First Assembly of God Church in Stroud. Rev. Don Wilburn will officiate. Burial will follow at the Stroud Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home. 

Anderson was born June 4, 1917, to Charles S. Anderson and Matilda (Reynolds) Anderson on Bear Creek near Harrison in Boone County, Ark. His family moved to Oklahoma in 1918. They eventually moved to Depew and Stroud area, where he was reared and educated. He lived there for 78 years.

He was united in marriage May 23, 1950, to the love of his life, Selma Quinn. They had seven children: Charles, Don, Doris, Joyce, Martha, Cecil and Ted. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. He also served in the U.S. Army from May 1942 until December 1945. While in the Army, Anderson served with the 632 Tank Destroyer Battalion in the western Pacific.

Anderson is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Bill Anderson, Ed Anderson and Baby Howard Anderson; and five sisters, Lizzie Hixon, Effie Anderson, Emma Robertson, Ella Underwood and Madge Lou Anderson.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Selma Anderson of the home; three daughters, Doris Halstead, Sicily, Italy; Joyce Flo and husband Kenneth, Dallas, Texas; Martha Fischer and husband Eric, Oklahoma City; four sons, Charles “Danny” Anderson, Milfay; Don Anderson, Milfay; Cecil Anderson, Milfay; Ted Anderson and wife Lisa, Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren, Celeste Dunigan, Chad Halstead, Sara Rife-Taylor, Joshua Fischer, Taylor Anderson, Brandon Anderson, Jordan Fischer; two great grandchildren, Aeron Rife-Taylor and Idashua Rife-Taylor; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Serving as casket bearers will be William Bickel, Ben Adams, Alva Underwood, Delmar Summers, Robert Pearman and Harold Sanders. Serving as honorary casket bearers will be Charles Hixon, Bill Anderson and Charles Anderson.
