Updated: 06 Sep 2009 ANTRIKIN, Carl Joe AMARILLO, Texas — Carl Joe Antrikin, 50 of Amarillo and formerly of Sapulpa, died Monday at Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo. Graveside services were today at Llano Cemetery in Amarillo with Dr. David Evans officiating. Arrangements were by Schooler-Gordon Colonial Chapel of Amarillo. Born in Sapulpa, Mr. Antrikin graduated from Kiefer High School and married Loretta White in Miami, Okla., in 1960. He joined the U. S. Air Force in 1960 and completed basic training at Amarillo Air Force Base. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and was discharged from the U.S. Air Force at Laughlin Air Force Base in Del Rio, Texas, in September 1966. Survivors include wife Loretta of the home; daughters Kimmy Brewer, Kelly Antrikin and Kandy Antrikin, all of Amarillo; sons Jim Antrikin and Steve Antrikin, both of Amarillo; sister Christina Raudon of Kiefer; brother Gordon Antrikin of Clinton, Iowa; and one grandchild. Mr. Antrikin was a member of the Francis Antrikin American Legion Post 205 in Kiefer. The legion was named for his great-grandfather who fought in the American Revolution. He was employed by Southwest Portland Cement Co., in Bushland, Texas, for 15 years until the plant closed in late 1987 as an industrial maintenance welder and was a machinist at Amarillo Gear at the time of his death. |
