Updated: 06 Sep 2009 BAKER, George Flaves Baker, 69, Tulsa, died Thursday at St. John Hospital, Tulsa. Services will be 2 pm Saturday at Osage Hills Christian Church, Tulsa, with the Revs. Hershall Martin and John Romine officiating. Burial will be in Beggs, Okla., under the direction of Mobley-Davidson Funeral Home, Sand Springs. Mr. Baker was a P.O.W. of World War II. He received several medals of honor for his service including the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, European theater-three battle stars, Presidential Citation with one cluster, combat infantry badge with wreath, Oklahoma Cross of Valor, Good Conduct Medal and Ex-P.O.W. Medal. He also was a member of Osage Hills Christian Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Veachel. Survivors include wife Nadine; daughter Donna Moore of Tulsa; sons Stanley of Beggs and Dennis of Huston; sisters Hallie Brady of Sand springs, Ina Haley of Sapulpa, Lucille Piazza of Tulsa, Velma Jones of Sand springs, Elsie Ellsworth of Stroud, Della Davidson of Tulsa, Mildred Flavel of Cushing, Jean Exendine of Tulsa and Geraldine Copeland of Barttesville; brother Robert M. of Tulsa; and four grandchildren. |
