W. K. Banks Dies at 74
William Kinley Banks, 74, of 209 S. Water, died Sunday morning at his
home after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Born Aug 31, 1900, in Kentucky, he came to Oklahoma in 1908. He
retired in 1966 from the L. B. Jackson Oil Co. after 33 years service.
He was a member of the First Assembly of God church and for the past few
years had served as its custodian.
Survivors are his widow Nellie of the home; two sons, Bob and William
Kinley Banks, Jr., both of Sapulpa; five daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Burke of
Redding, Calif., Mrs. Patricia Freeman of Bristow, and Mrs. Neoma Kelin,
Mrs. Ann Kelin and Mrs. Norma Deshazer, all of Sapulpa; 19 grandchildren
and 30 great grandchildren; three brothers, Fred of Sapulpa, Phil of
Bakersfield, Calif., and Hobart, of Mansfield, Tex., one sister, Maude
Scott of Salma, Calif., one half-brother Sol Banks of Anaheim, Calif.,
and one half-sister, Bercie Walton of Longview, Tex.
Services will be at 2 pm Wednesday in the First Assembly of God
Church with the Rev. Harold Powell officiating. Interment will be in
Green Hills Memorial Gardens under direction of Smith Funeral Home.
