Jesse M. Barnes, 70, died Thursday at his home.

Services will be 11 am Saturday at Smith Funeral Chapel with Russell Casey officiating.

Burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Gardens.

He was Born Aug 23, 1918, in Reed Springs, Mo. He married Pauline Tucker on June 17, 1939, in Sapulpa and lived here most of his life.

Mr. Barns served in the Army Engineers during World War II as a welder.

He owned Jess Barnes Welding Service and was a member of the First Christian Church, Elks Lodge, American Legion and Sapulpa Banjo Band for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ralph and Vern.

Survivors include wife Pauline; son Mike of Sapulpa; brothers Warren of Sapulpa and Everett of Tulsa; and two grandchildren.
