Watie Barnett, 65, 206 N. Division, died Monday at his home.

A prayer service will be held at 7:30 pm Thursday a Smith Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 pm Firday at Pickett Chapel Methodist Church with the Rev. Earl Dunson officiating. Mr. Barnett’s body will be taken to the church at 10 am Friday.

He was born July 31, 1927, in Sapulpa and was a lifelong Sapulpa resident. He was a member of Rock Creek Methodist Church. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

Survivors include mother, Lou Anna Barnett of Sapulpa; son Timothy Barnett of Taft; daughters Josephine Grimes of Edmond, Pamela Barnett of Glenpool and Rebecca Barnett of Kellyville; brother Harrison Barnett of Sapulpa; sisters Annie Watashe and Jerri Kensey, both of Sapulpa, Mary Watashe of Kellyville and Nancy Jo Harry of Liberty Mounds; and 13 grandchildren.

Funeral services for Watie Barnett were held today at Pickett Chapel Indian Methodist Church with Rev. Earl Dunson officiating.

Burial followed at the Cumshe Cemetery.

Military rites were provided by the Sapulpa veteran organizations.

Casketbearers were Dennis Barnett, Kenneth Watashe, Ronnie Watashe, Cecil Harry, Steve Kinsey and Jo Wesley Watashe.

Mr. Barnett, a lifelong Sapulpa resident, died Monday.
