Mr. William A. Barrett, 81, of Route 2, died today at Hillcrest Medical Center, Tulsa.

Services will be 2 pm Monday at Smith Funeral Chapel with the Rev. J. C. Morgan officiating.

Burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Gardens under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Mr. Barrett was born March 26, 1907, in Sequoyah County, Okla., and worked as a farmer and a greenskeeper. He lived in Sapulpa for 57 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church.

He married his wife, Vera, in Sapulpa in 1936.

Survivors include his wife Vera of the home; daughters Jo Etta New of Tyler, Texas, Pat Talburt of Tylsa, Sue Gehan of Orono, Maine, and Linda Zinn of Mesquite, Texas; sons W. E. "Buddy" and Eugene, both of Wapulpa; sisters Mae Knight of Tahlequah, Okla., and Sally Troxell, Avis Robinson and Hazel Boaz, all of Sapulpa; 23 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Vera Barrett, 92, of Sapulpa, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005.

Vera was employed as a clerk for many years at Kresses, and she was employed by Liberty Glass and retired from there.

She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church. She loved going to church, and she also enjoyed shopping and cooking for family and friends.

Vera was a real lady, always putting everybody else ahead of herself. May she be at peace and rest eternally in God's embraces.

The family wishes to thank her granddaughter, Kim Smith, for the love and devotion she gave her grandmother. We wish also to thank Infinity Hospice and all the nurses, especially Shawn for her loving kindness.

Vera is preceded in death by husband, William A. "Bill" Barrett, a son, William "Buddy" E. Barrett; her parents, Sidney and Ola Mae Evans Rawdon; one brother, Evan Brown; and her sisters, Lena Mae Nelson and Marie Rawdon.

She is survived by: her children, JoEtta New and her husband Fred, of Tulsa, Eugene Barrett, of Sapulpa, Pat Talburt and her husband Gus, of Tulsa; Sue Gehan and her husband Chet, of Maine; Linda Zinn and her husband Raymond, of Sapulpa, daughter-in-law Mary Zinn Barrett of Sapulpa; 29 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great grandchildren and by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Vera was loved and will be missed by all her family, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005 at Faith Baptist Church. Serving as pallbearers will be Elmo Burke, Jim Vogt, Steve Talburt, Charlie Barrett, Dr. Rayme Zinn, and Glen Matison. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Tony Roberts, Jamie Barrett and Buford Barrett.

Funeral services will be under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home.
