Chas. J. Baugh, 64 year old mid-continent oil man who has lived in Sapulpa for more than 20 years, died suddenly in a Tulsa hotel yesterday from a heart attack.

Baugh received emergency treatment but that was unable to revive him. His death came as a surprise to many since he had not been in ill health.

Baugh came here from Mount Vernon, MO Where he lived for a number of years, moving into the mid-continent field some 35 years ago. While in Sapulpa he was engaged in the oil contracting and lease business. Since Mrs. Baugh died at the family home here, two years ago in December, Mr. Baugh has spent most of his time in Texas and at Tulsa.

Surviving are four brothers, Albert and Ben Baugh of Mount Vernon, Harry and Lawrence Baugh, also of that city and a sister, Mrs. Jennie Hughes of Springfield, MO.

The body was taken to Mount Vernon yesterday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock. Funeral services will be held there tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock. Burial will be made in that city.
