Services were Monday for Fred M. Bell, 79, of Bixby, at the Regular Baptist Church, Jenks.

Mr. Bell died Thursday at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.

Burial was at Green Hills Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bixby Funeral Home.

He was a farmer, oilfield worker and owner of Bell’s Auto Salvage in Kiefer before retiring. He lived in the Jenks, Bixby, Kiefer and Sapulpa area most of his live.

He served on the Kiefer Fire Department for 15 years and served as Fire Chief for part of that time.

He was a member of the Regular Baptist Church, Jenks, and served as a deacon for 35 years. He also served as Sunday School Superintendent and was a member of the Devine Service Committee of the Regular Baptist Association,

Mr. Bell and his wife Madge celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in January.

He was preceded in death by his brother, John Bell.

Survivors include wife Madge; daughters Virginia Palmer of Bixby, Genevieve Gruver of Jenks, and Betty Hayes of Jenks; brothers Rev, Herman Bell of Fayetteville Ark., Jack Bell of Colcord, H. A. Bell of Kiefer and Bobby Bell of Glenpool; sisters Leona Bolton of Glenpool, Edna Vanarsdal of Kiefer, Zelona Bowman of Sapulpa, Mary Bowman of Dryprong, La., Lorene Searcy of Pauls Valley and Anna Lee of Kellyville; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
