Mr. Theodore (Ted) R. Boody Jr., 29, Route 3, died Saturday at Gardena, Calif., of massive head injuries. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Owen Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Larry Brinkley officiating. Entombment will be at Green Hills Mausoleum. Casket bearers will be Ed Morris, Randy Goss, Richard Plueger, John Cooper, Phil McDonald and Pat McDonald. He was born Aug 11, 1958, in Battle Creek, Mich. He started his motorcycle racing career more than 20 years ago and competed in the American Motorcyclists Association/Camel Pro Series for 12 years. He was a national runner-up in 1977 and 1985, and finished in the AMA top 10 every year since 1983. Boody captured eight national events in his career and was an AMA Central Region Junior champion and Central Region Expert Champion. Early in 1987, he appeared on ABC’s Wide World of Sports. Survivors include wife Terry; father Theodore R. Boody Sr. Of Los Angeles; mother Mary Sams of Deltona, Fla.; grandmothers Winnie Lucas of Deltona and Dorothy of Battle Creek; daughters Lindsay and Tara, both of the home; and sisters Lynda Vandevsen of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Vicki Curtiss of Canoga Park Calif.
