John Boren, 74, of Artesia, NM died Saturday after a lengthy illness.

Boren came to Kellyville from Wellington, KS as a young man. He was a barber in Kellyville and Sapulpa for some time. He left Sapulpa in 1928 and went to Artesia.

He was a member of the Church of Christ at Artesia.

Survivors are his widow, Leana of the home; three sisters, Eva Lawhorn, 1002 E Dewey; Mrs. Nora Covell, Wichita, KS; Myrtle Boren, San Diego, CA; two nephews Paul Boren, 419 N 3rd and Fred Whitehead, north of the city. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2pm in the Church of Christ at Artesia, NM. Interment will be in Artesia.
