GREENE - Funeral services for Lorrayne L. Botterbrodt, 78, of 309 N. Main, will be 10:30 am Saturday, May 8, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Greene, with the Rev. Lance Kittleson officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Greene. 

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm today at Reid's Funeral Chapel in Greene, and will continue one hour prior to services on Saturday. 

Lorrayne Lois Fox was born Aug 10, 1920, in rural Aredale, Butler County, a daughter of Edward H. and Hazel I. (Pencook) Fox, and died Wednesday (May 5, 1999) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City. 

She received her education in the Bristow public schools, graduating in 1937. On Feb 14, 1940, she was united in marriage to Ernest Botterbrodt at St. Peter Lutheran Parsonage in Greene. They farmed near Marble Rock until 1944 when they moved west of Greene. They remained there until 1951, when they began farming east of Greene. Following their retirement they moved into Greene. Ernest died March 2, 1986. She continued to make her home in Greene until entering the Liebe Care Center. 

Lorrayne will be remembered as an excellent cook and her collections of cook books, spoons and other things. She enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting and gardening. She was baptized Dec 19, 1920, at the Grace Evangelical Church in Aredale and was confirmed as a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church on March 22, 1940, where she was active in various church circles throughout the years. 

Living family members include her son and daughter-in-law, David and Barbara Botterbrodt, of Tuscola, Texas; four grandchildren and their spouses, Daniel and Rhonda Botterbrodt, David and Tracy Botterbrodt, Debra and Michael Belch, Dianna and Joel Tobey; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ron Fox of Allison and Orville Fox of Waverly. 

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Wilma Truax; two brothers, Don Fox and Walter Fox. 

Those planning an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to the Lorrayne Botterbrodt Memorial Fund in care of the family.
