Johnie T. Bowen, 76, of Sapulpa died Tuesday at Bartlett Memorial Medical Center Services are to be held at 3pm Thursday at Forest Hills Baptist Church with the Rev. Sammy Lowe officiating.

Burial is to follow at South Heights Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
Bowen was born Jun 21 1918 in Waldron, AR and was employed at American Airlines for many years. After his employment there he owned and operated Bill’s Bait and Tackle. Bowen was a Methodist and was married 53 years to his wife Nellie WORTMAN Bowen. He was preceded in death by parents Mimey and D. H.  Bowen.

He is survived by wife Nellie of the home; son Bill L. Bowen of Sapulpa; daughters Donna SMITH and Patty BRISTOW, both of Sapulpa and Johnnie CURRY of Columbia, TN; sister Truly Mae JAMES of Sapulpa; six grandchildren and one grandchild.

The family will headquarter at 7 Woodland Road.

Funeral services for Johnie T. Bowen were to be held at 3pm today in the Forest Hills Baptist Church with the Rev. Sammy Lowe officiating.  Burial was to follow in South Heights Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Serving as casketbearers were Bart CURRY, Brian SMITH, John BRISTOW, Scott ADAMS, Brett ADAMS and Ronnie BRISTOW.  

Honorary bears were Dale WORTMAN, Jimmy WORTMAN, Randy TUTTLE, Andy TUTTLE, Rocky BRISTOW and Guy ATCHLEY.
