Virginia Boyd Taken By Death Miss Virginia Boyd, only daughter of Mr. And Mrs. J. A. Boyd, pioneer Sapulpans, died early yesterday morning at Sand Springs hospital where she was taken the latter part of last week following a nervous breakdown. She was 21 years old at the time of her death, having been born in Sapulpa June 22, 1914. Miss Boyd was a student at the state university at Norman although her studies there had been interrupted twice since the opening last September. Only a few days after the fall term opened she had to undergo an operation for appendicitis which kept her out of school during the entire semester. Two weeks ago she returned to Norman for a second semester but within a few days had to return home on account of a nervous breakdown. Last week she was taken to the hospital where she soon lapsed into a coma from which she never aroused, death coming early yesterday morning. The young lady is survived by her parents, who have been residents of Sapulpa many years, and three brothers. Powell an instructor in the state university and now on leave of absence on account of his health; Stewart, with the First National Bank of Tulsa, and Billie, still at home. One brother, Jack, died many years ago. Funeral services have been announced for 2 o’clock tomorrow afternoon at the first Methodist church, corner Water and Thompson, with burial at the Sapulpa Cemetery beside the grave of her brother. The services will be in charge of Rev. C. Fred MacLean, the pastor, with Rev. J. W. McKinney and Rev. P. J. Conkwright assisting. Buffington funeral home is in charge of the arrangements. The body will lie in state at the home until time for the funeral and may be viewed by friends. Pall bearers will be W. B. Key, Ed Ellinghousen, Gerald Updike, T. H. Stuart, Frank Hill, and Eli Wilkonson, The latter two are from Tulsa. Miss Boyd graduated from the Sapulpa schools and was in her second year at the university. She was an accomplished violinist and her services were greatly in demand at church and social entertainments where she never disappointed or turned down her friends. All the abstract offices in the city will be closed during the funeral hour tomorrow, Mr. Boyd being in the abstract business here and owner of the Lafe Speer Abstract Company.
