Trula
Marie Brady, an Oilton resident and member of the First Baptist
Church in Oilton, passed away at her home on Thursday, October
02, 2008 at he age of 86 years.
Funeral services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler
Funeral Home, Oilton, OK and will be held at 1:00 p.m.,
Saturday, October 4, 2008 in the First Baptist Church with
burial to follow in the Cleveland Cemetery.
The daughter of the late Walter Manley and Dessie L. (Ritter)
Manley, Trula was born on February 20, 1922 in Stigler. She grew
up in Maramec and Jennings, graduating from Jennings High School
with the class of 1941.
Trula was united in marriage to Earl Brady on August 4, 1941 in
Jennings. The Brady's made their home in Jennings where Trula
eventually began working for the local post office. She
eventually became Post Master in Jennings and eventually retired
in 1983.
As a member of the First Baptist Church, Trula stayed very
active in the church and was very involved with the Women's
Mission Union. She loved to travel whether it would be on a
cruise, going to Mexico or visiting every state. In her spare
time she enjoyed fishing, reading and playing with her
grandchildren.
Trula is survived by two daughters, Betty Finley and her husband
Charles of Ione, CA and Marilyn Chapman and her husband Keith of
Oklahoma City; one son, Kenneth Lee Brady and his wife Karen of
Oilton; two brothers, Carl Manley and his wife Betty of Oilton
and Ray Manley and his wife Ann of Kentucky; one sister, Opal
Martin of Humbolt, KS; one son-in-law, Kenneth Jennings of
Tulare, CA; seven grandchildren, Tara Creel, Sidney Gilbert,
John Finley, Kimberly Peterson, Sherilyn Antrum, Katina Skinner,
and Nishia Rhodes; 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces,
nephews, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Trula was preceded in death by her
husband Earl in 2001; one son, Earl Douglas Brady; one daughter,
Barbara June Jennings; three brothers, Emitt Manley, Omer
Manley, and Otis Manley; three sisters, Mildred Williams, Ruby
Butler, and Juanita Garten; and one grandson, Ricky Joe Brady
