George Bruner, 79, of Holdenville, died Sunday at his home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 pm Thursday at Salt Creek United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Baker and Rev. Andrew Deere officiating.

Burial will follow at the Harjo Family Cemetery under the direction of James R. Dolton Funeral Home in Holdenville.

He was born in Hughes County to Dave Bruner and the former Ida Kernell on March 18, 1914. He was a retired machinist and farmer.

He was preceded in death by a son, David Bruner; a daughter, Anne Inay; one grandson, John Daivd Inay, and two brothers, Dixon Bruner and Tony Bruner.

Survivors include his wife, Lizzie, son, Melvin of Seminole; step-son, George Douglas Scott of Arizona; daughters, Phyllis Warrington of Sapulpa, Deborah Clark of Wewoka, and Georgetta Fixico of Sapulpa; sisters, Lucinda Walkingstick of Tulsa; Mattie Lou Factor of Sasakwa, and Alice Stephens of Tulsa; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Serving as casket bearers were Jerry Wilson, Alfred Wilson, Allen Yargee, Freeland Powell, Kenneth Larney and Chuck McHenry.
