Charley Frank Caldwell, 81, formerly of Wray, CO and
Coffeyville, KS, died October 21, 1989 in Lamar, CO. A graveside
service was held Wednesday, October 25, 1989 at the Restlawn
Memorial Park Cemetery in Coffeyville, KS. Memorials may be made
to the American Cancer Society, c/o Ford-Wulf-Burns Funeral
service, P.O. Box 468, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
He was born May 20, 1908 in Van Buren, AR to George Washington
Caldwell and Lucy (Cline) Caldwell. When a small boy his father
died and he and his mother moved to Oilton, OK where he attended
school.
On September 6, 1929 he was married to Beulah Daisy Sanders in
Drumright, OK. Following their marriage the couple lived at
various worksites in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas, where Mr.
Caldwell worked in the oil fields.
In 1952 they moved to Coffeyville, KS to make their home.
Charley and Beulah moved to Wray, CO about three years ago and
lived in Lincoln Terrace until the end of August when they moved
to Lamar, CO to be near a couple of their children.
Survivors include his wife, Beulah, Lamar, CO; five sons,
Edward, Coffeyville, KS; Frankie, Shawnee, OK; Clarence, Lamar,
CO; Walter, South Coffeyville, OK; and Bobby, Ada, OK; three
daughters, Florence Saner, Lamar, CO; Shirley Smith, Council
Grove, KS; and Donna Joplin, Coffeyville, KS; 21 grandchildren
and one great granddaughter. Submitted by
