Funeral services for Larry Edward Cantwell were held Aug. 3 at Skiatook Ascension Church with the Elder Larry Freeman officiating. Cantwell, 45, of Texas, died July 31, 1994 in Galveston.

Interment was in the Osage Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home.

Cantwell was born April 8, 1949 in Tu1are, Calif. to Charles Edward and Barbara May Fern Cannon Cantwell. He came to Oklahoma as a young boy and lived in Skiatook and Sapulpa. He attended Sapulpa schools and later received his GED while in the military.

He entered the U.S. Army in 1966, serving in Vietnam as tail gunner with the 101st Calvary Division. Cantwell was wounded and received the Purple Heart. After his tour of duty in Vietnam, he re-enlisted, served 17 years and received an Honorable Discharge.

Cantwell was in "The Lincoln Conspiracy" movie as a horseman, using his own horse. He was an artist, an actor and did rodeo bullriding. He had made his home in Texas for the past few years.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie Denise and Jeff Downs of San Diego, Calif.; mother Barbara Werther of Nowata; six sisters, Judy Smith of Claremore, Gwen Hicks of Skiatook, Debbora Mattix of Skiatook, Janet Marie Cantwell of Nowata, Laura Cantwell of Talala and Kelly Earhart of Skiatook; brother Jerry Cantwell of Talala and Kelly Earhart of Skiatook; one grandson; 23 nieces and nephews; and 10 great-nieces and nephews.

Cantwell was preceded in death by his father; brother Ricky Earl Cantwell; and sister Shelly Pattison.

Casket bearers for the service were Randy Cantwell, Clifford Russell, Larry Smith Jr., Jason Hicks, Shawn Kipps and Thomas Hicks.

Honorary casket bearer were Jimmy Crain and Danny Hicks.
