John Carter, 75, 505 N. Ross, died Friday at his home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:20 a.m. Monday at Smith Funeral Chapel with Ed Yarger officiating.

Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Carter was born Dec. 15, 1916, in Arkansas, and lived in the Sapulpa area most of his life. He was a retired Tulsa County Highway Department employee. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include sons Roy Carter of Kellyville, Ronald Philyou of Wright city, Mo., and John Carter Jr. of Tulsa; daughters Katherine Eliff of Owensville, Mo., Ruby Summers of Glenpool, Melinda Harris and Mandy Carter, both of St. Louis, and Janette Kunlenschmidt of Sapulpa; brother R. V. Foley of Bristow; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. today for John Carter in the Smith Funeral Chapel with Ed Yarger officiating.

Burial followed in the Green Hills Memorial Gardens under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Serving as casketbearers were Ralph Summers, Eddie Summers, Wendel Summers, Bill Elliff, James Lawson Philyou and Ralph Kuhlenschmidt.

Mr. Carter, a longtime Sapulpa resident, died Friday in Sapulpa.
